Hosting and server logs
The site runs on a server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. Like every web server, it records each request in a log file: your IP address, the date and time, the page you requested, your browser's user agent and the page you came from. These logs are only used to keep the site running and secure, and they are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Statistics
Visits are counted with Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service hosted in the EU. Plausible sets no cookies and stores no personal data: your IP address is only used to recognise unique visitors within one day and is never stored. I only see totals, such as how many people visited a page.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name theme. It never leaves your device.
Fonts and icons
All fonts and icons are served from this server. Loading a page sends no requests to Google Fonts or any other third party.
YouTube videos
Some project pages can show a YouTube video. Until you click play, you only see a preview image served from this server, and nothing is loaded from YouTube. When you click play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google (YouTube) receives your IP address and other data as described in Google's privacy policy.
If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply, and I don't pass them on.
Links to other sites
Links to GitHub, X and the app and extension stores lead to services with their own privacy policies. Nothing is sent to them until you follow a link.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask which of your data is stored and have it corrected or deleted. Email me for any of these requests.
