DeskPhone

SIP softphone for macOS, iOS and Android that connects straight to your SIP provider and your CardDAV server. No DeskPhone server in between.

DeskPhone turns your Mac, iPhone or Android phone into a phone on your own SIP line. It registers directly with your SIP provider or your company’s phone system and brings in contacts from your own CardDAV server. There is no DeskPhone server and no account: the app only talks to the services you already use.

  • SIP calling: several accounts over UDP, TCP or TLS, with hold, transfer and keypad tones
  • Every device rings: run the same account on your Mac and your phone and answer on either; on iOS and Android, calls arrive on the phone’s own call screen
  • CardDAV contacts from Nextcloud, Radicale and other servers, photos included, matched to incoming calls for caller ID
  • Busy lamp field: a coloured dot on each colleague’s extension shows whether they are free, ringing or on a call
  • Office hours: a weekly schedule per account, so the line goes offline after work and comes back on its own
  • Call history with a missed-call badge, seven ringtones or your own, light and dark theme
  • No analytics, no crash reporting, no ads
  • In private beta for macOS, iOS and Android, free while it lasts

How it’s built

  • Flutter for all three platforms from one codebase, with Riverpod and go_router
  • baresip as the SIP engine, compiled from source with OpenSSL and Opus and called from Dart through FFI
  • Drift (SQLite) as the offline-first store; CardDAV syncs into it in the background
  • CallKit on iOS and a full-screen call notification on Android for the native call screen
